David's Bridal

Customer Service Representative

May 2018 - August 2019 • Littleton, CO

What I liked

I love seeing all the brides every day and being able to help them out. I liked sewing, and I liked being in the bridal shop environment.

What I wish was different

Nothing! I love this job!

Advice

Make sure you're in a good head-space when you come to work, as customers will pick up on it if you're in a bad mood.

Customer Service Representative

June 2019 • North Charleston, SC

What I liked

I loved (and continue to love) every second of it. It is easily my favorite job I have had so far.

What I wish was different

I wish I applied sooner

Advice

I was so nervous about working in the wedding industry, but I worried for nothing. I could have saved all of that energy that I put into worrying when I could have been living in the moment.

Dress Specialist

May - August 2019 • Tukwila, WA

What I liked

I loved being able to work with customers multiple times due to comeback appointments. As well, I became close with my coworkers which made my time at David's Bridal very fun.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have stayed for longer, but I had to return to college.

Advice

Try and figure out what the customer wants by listening to their ideas. Sometimes they have a hard time explaining what they are picturing in their head.

Receiving Specialist

May - August 2019 • Roanoke, VA

What I liked

It was a relaxing job. I got to handle all of the receiving by myself which made it much easier to work.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had gotten more hours. There were things I wanted to change and do that I just really never had time to.

Advice

Well, the only thing that was odd about the job is that I was the only male working there at the time. At first it may seem weird, but it's really not that big of a deal.

Customer Service Representative

June - August 2019 • Danbury, CT

What I liked

I love fancy dresses, so being surrounded by them every day was awesome. I think that for the most part, there's a really good atmosphere between the workers at this particular David's Bridal and when there wasn't any work to do, I enjoyed hanging out with them.

What I wish was different

There's a couple things I wish I could have said or done differently, but then, that's everyday life, really.

Advice

Simply having a job and having to deal with lots of other people on a daily basis has increased my confidence by leaps and bounds. I also learned that even though I am a naturally shy and introverted person, I can enjoy working with other people and meeting new people. So my advice for other shy introverts like me would be to not automatically dismiss a job where you are forced to interact with lots of people because it could very well be the best thing you can do for yourself.
