“It was so incredible to get to be in a lab setting everyday for 8 hours rather than the typical 3 hours you would get for a class period during the school year. That extra time in the lab really allowed me to immerse myself in the lab and allowed me to think outside the box and come up with my own ideas on how to research. It was also a great opportunity to get to work one-on-one with a professor in more of a professional setting. The professor that I researched with is now a great resource for me in searching for future internships! I also received funding through Eli Lilly to do my summer research and had the opportunity to present my poster in front of the chemists at Lilly as well as in front of the American Chemical Society at the national meeting in New Orleans! ”
