I was given the promotion at the beginning of the summer that included a pay raise but never received that until my last paycheck.

They had a very well-developed internship program. There were a lot of activities and leadership development opportunities for the interns. I also worked on a project that really impacted the business. I was able to work on a team with other interns and full-time engineers, and we were able to test our product in real stores.

What I liked

That they pay above minimum wage, everyone who works there is friendly and you can get along pretty easy, and all of the options of the store you can work (there's like 7 of them)

What I wish was different

The only I wish was different that they had made it apparent that they would primarily schedule me at night.

There is so much to learn and things you have to know when working so be ready to learn but also don't be afraid to ask questions because they are super nice about helping you learn.

I love how diverse my job is, so there isn’t much I would have changed

Always go in with a positive attitude. Your attitude towards where you work changes your daily routines. So stay positive and give out good vibes, and you’ll get them back just the same or better.

It's a good opportunity to build your resume especially if you want to be in retail/sales. The company, specifically, has a lot of opportunities to move up internally and will give you multiple opportunities to do that. I have met some amazing people in this job and I'm still working there now.

What I liked

I enjoyed helping customers pick out the sporting equipment that best enhances their performance. It was fun to discuss sports and be able to connect with the customers because we shared the passion of sports.

What I wish was different

I wish I got more hours scheduled early on. I felt like I was not working that much the first month of employment, however, it was much better after.

Advice

Make sure that you enjoy a fast-paced working environment, and do not be afraid to help out in other departments around the store.

At my store there was one particular boss who was determined to make me miserable, but the rest of management was great.
