Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve is an absolutely wonderful place to learn and work. I'm currently working on my education degree at Oakland University, and working at Dinosaur Hill gave me a chance to develop several vital teaching skills - Planning lessons, adapting on the spot, and more. Everyone who works in or with the office is incredibly welcoming; It is impossible to not smile when you see anyone who works here. The programs held by Dinosaur Hill are educational, authentic, and importantly very fun! I loved everything I did here, and I would recommend this experience to anyone.
What I wish was different
This is not a 9-5 type job; Rather, if you work here, you will be assisting with programs as they are ongoing. This isn't something I wish had been different, but it is good to know before getting started!
Advice
Go in with a mindset of growth, and you will gain so much more than you expect. I got over a fear of cockroaches at this job, as well as learned how to make the most out of a simple walk in the woods. Walk into Dinosaur Hill with a smile, and you will not regret a single experience you will gain here. If you're considering checking out this place, do it! You will absolutely love it.

Advice
Be prepared to travel from time to time. Most of the fieldtrips take place on location but there are times where you will need to travel to a new fieldtrip location like schools or other parks. The least I traveled was probably 15 minutes and the furthest I drove off-site was over 1 hour and a half.
