I got hands on experience in education which I initially had very little of from my courses. I was welcomed into the company and given roles right away. I taught STEM camps to ages 6-12. I had a blast learning alongside my campers and doing fun experiments! I still work there today, a year and a half later.
What I wish was different
Stipends require some intense budgeting if you’re used to biweekly paychecks, but it was worth it. Now as a regular employee (not an intern), I get paid biweekly.
Advice
Sometimes your classes don’t get you the experience employers are hoping for after you graduate, so take it into your own hands and look for opportunities! This helped me get ahead of my peers and buff up my resume. I was very ready for my 400 level courses!
