Overall, the experience was positive. The workflow was well balanced and included many different types of problem projects. Some of my responsibilities included fixture design and 3d printing, Quality process analysis, and customer inspection reports. I liked the mix of design work with the data analysis and statistical studies because I was able to work on a variety of projects that didn't get repetitive. I also liked being involved in the process and seeing my work implemented within the company.
What I wish was different
Something that I wished would have been different was a better introduction to the process and workflow of what I was going to be doing at the beginning of the work term. I felt like I got thrown into the mix right away and I wasn't expecting to ask so many questions. Another thing I had wished was different was the responsibilities outlined more clearly in the offer letter because it was vague, and it felt like I had a different Idea of what I would be doing going into the work term.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share is to be very observant and take notes about different processes and regular tasks you will have to complete because it helps when you need to get something done quickly and asking to be walked through the process again is a hassle to everyone. I also help you be more efficient with your time and creates a good impression.
