I wish my supervisor was more prepared on what to do with an intern as I was kind of just tossed around to help random people in unrelated things often.

It's not always going to be fun or important work that you're doing. Be prepared for that.

Don’t be intimidated by being confused. Especially as an engineering intern, the job can be very hard and confusing sometimes but if you ask questions you will find the solution.

I liked how much I was exposed to and was tasked with several projects that I learned a lot from.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had taken a bit of time off. I was given opportunities to take time off but I went to work anyways.

Advice

Make yourself familiar to Microsoft office you will use it often. Also be respectful to your boss it goes a long way to getting you hired in the future.

What I liked

My boss took me under her wing and introduced me to people that had jobs that more aligned with my interests and major. My boss tried to provide work that was more relevant to what I was interested in.

What I wish was different

There wasn't much to do other than spreadsheet modeling, I wish I had had a chance to create models like in my economics classes or to do research on something I was passionate about.

Advice

Tell your boss what work and subjects you are interested and try to develop your relationships with the people around you. They may be willing to help you out in the future or plug your name at a social event.

What I liked

The responsibilities i was given made me look useful to the company and my opinion counted in the department. The hospitality by my coworkers including my boss. The practical learning of electrical power plant ,steam turbines,natural way of producing power,customer care and team work. safety courses,volunteering activities . The chance to address a multi billion company CEO plus other interns from different parts of United states. Meeting new people and making friends.

What I wish was different

My housing situation was a bit hard since i wasn't staying long i couldn't get a lease and its had for people from a different state to learn and adjust to the new environment. If they could also make it clear to give direct job offers to those interns who have been appreciated for showing exceptional working skills and recommended by their supervisors.

Advice

Learning never ends and never be scared to admit that you don't know.In most companies everyone is willing to help you learn if your willing to show them how bad you want to learn and succeed plus make yourself useful in any department your assigned to.Don't seat at your desk the whole day because no one has offered you work to do ask someone if you can help them in anyway that way everyone will notice and begin giving you work because your ambitious.

What I liked

I've loved the opportunity to work at a compressor station and see what work is being done to maintain the reliability and integrity of natural gas compression and distribution systems. The mix of office and field work I was able to complete was pleasant as well.

What I wish was different

Nothing really.

Advice

Keep trying! I applied for this experience at the end of each term since my freshman year, and I didn't get interviewed until I finished my junior year.
