What I liked

I liked the flexibility of working with ESC, the people I was working with, and the projects I got to do! I was able to pick hours that worked best for me and work from home/the office when it worked best with my schedule and the projects I had to complete. Everyone in ESC was wonderful to work with as they were all very supportive, patient, and kind. In addition, I got to work on a lot of interesting projects, like creating a video and program for the 40th anniversary event, and organizing/filming/editing a training video for consultants.

What I wish was different

After my more official part-time work during the summer of August '22, I did some work on an as-needed basis, and I think the communication was not as fast then as it was during the summer when I would be in the office and could ask for clarification on projects in person. However, this did not impact my ability to complete the work, it just took longer sometimes to get clarification or instructions which means my deliverables took longer to complete.

Advice

Being proactive is very important! This involved both asking for clarification/instructions when needed, but also doing things on my own when I think I have a pretty good handle on things, which made things faster since I did not need someone to walk me through every single step.
