The schedule is extremely flexible. My lead really does put school first, so if I ever need to skip a shift to study for a test, or if something comes up at school, I don''t worry if I'll be able to take off work. The people are extremely friendly as well. I've made a lot of connections and learned about a lot of things from my coworkers because they are all students either at Butler or WSU.
What I wish was different
I wish i got paid more.

Human Resources Intern
June 2019 • Wichita, KS
What I liked
I liked that I got to work in a field that I could potentially grow into after I receive my degree from Wichita State. I also like that since it was/is a co-op, I get school credit for performing the job, in addition to being paid. The pay itself is $12/hour, just raised to $13/hour, which I feel is very generous for an internship/co-op, so I like that part as well. It's a good experience to be able to see what life in Human Resources is like, before I'm even graduated, and at a big company such as Textron! It's also a plus to be able to say that your "foot is in the door" at that company, and they know who you are when you apply for future jobs within the company you interned for.
What I wish was different
Since this job was more of what you would call a "pilot program", we did not/do not get the access we need being WSU students vs. a "true" Textron employee. Since human resources involves so much sensitive information, contractors cannot gain access to hardly any of the software that most of the HR coordinators use within the department I work in, and worked in over the summer. The other interns and I were/are very limited on what we can do ourselves, many issues we have to escalate to the other coordinators in the department.
Advice
Learn as much as you can at the beginning when they give you training!

IT Support
July 2019 • Wichita, KS
What I liked
I genuinely enjoy working at Ennovar. Everyone is kind and helpful and if you are unaware of how to assist a user there is always someone willing to help you. With an Applied Computing major, I believe that this is a great experience for those who are looking for hands-on training and connections within the aviation business.
What I wish was different
I currently do not wish that anything would be different, I have a great time working at Ennovar and working with fellow WSU students.
Advice
When I first started this job, I had no technical experience with computers. I had only used them for schoolwork or graphic design. This had caused me to feel inexperienced and not confident in my ability to assist the team, but Ennovar will teach you how to do both basic and advanced techniques in IT to assist the user at every turn. They are helpful and willing to introduce you to the IT field.
