What I liked

The environment is pleasant. The kind of assignments is very diverse. I enjoy helping teachers and students. I can be proactive in my job. I've been able to use my Excel knowledge, practice, and learn more. It has helped me to improve my communication skills.

What I wish was different

I was working during Covid when the school was closed, and everyone was new in this job. Then, I had to learn a lot of things by myself or communicate by email with my boss and other people who could guide me. It was different than a face to face training. Furthermore, many things were done differently during that time. It is good that I am still in this job and this semester I've been able to learn how things are done in a normal semester. It has been more challenging, but also more rewarding.

Advice

Do always more than what you are expected to do. Use every experience and challenge as a learning opportunity. Be friendly with everyone. Be on time. Every new job is hard, and you will probably make mistakes. That is actually expected from new employees. Then, don't be afraid of that part of the process, make your best, and you will get better.

I loved the job for the calmness for the quiet peaceful environment you get for cleaning offices and classrooms. The feeling of satisfaction by making sure everything is clean and neat.

What I wish was different

I wish the schedule could have been a little more flexible because we were only allowed to work from 9pm to 1am on weekdays.

Advice

Make sure you live nearby if you do end working there, cause i had to bike for 15 minutes to go home at 1am. Its not fun

It was amazing to work with students from the school and meet a lot of new people. The coworkers were very nice, and we had many training sessions to stay up to date with tutoring techniques.

What I wish was different

The hours are not very flexible and the small amount of tutors makes it hard to get any time off when you need it.

Advice

It’s a good job if you really need one, but it can be demanding.

OIT Project Manager Intern

What I liked

I loved the team I worked with. There was a very nice and happy environment between the team members. I learned a lot about project management and had many opportunities to use the skills I was learning on School regarding to project Management. I would definitely do it again!

What I wish was different

I wish I could have had more initiative and be less shy. The team was very supportive and they give you as much opportunities to grow as you could take. I would definitely would ask them for more feedback too. People there are very savvy and are willing to help you grow.

Advice

My advise would be to take ownership of the experience. Do your best and never be afraid to ask questions. People want to help you grow and if you take advantage of it, you will be a better asset for them and both will end up winning more.
