In my opinion, the most enjoyable part of this experience was interacting with the patients and truly getting to know them individually. It taught me the importance of building good patient client rapport.
What I wish was different
I didn't have a lot of information about the job prior to arriving onsite, and although I really enjoyed the job itself it would have been helpful to brace myself for the level of intensity and dedication that it required.
Advice
Try and find an experience that pushes the boundaries of your comfort zone at least a little. My internship was all about patients with eating disorders as well as mood and anxiety disorders, and at the time I have no interest in studying eating disorders but it opened up a new outlet of interest for me.
