What I liked

Great group of people, skillful and friendly. Professional when needed but overall a relaxed environment that encourages you to be yourself. There's also plenty of fascinating projects to work on. Another big upside is that they're very flexible and as a student they understand if I had to take a bit of time off for exams and such.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would recommend trying to socialize with people around the lab, they are welcoming and it's always great to add to your network.

Manufacturing Engineering Intern

What I liked

I love working at Exolith! The stuff I get to do and see every day is so amazing and I'm always eager to come in to help each day. Everyone here is very laid back and personable and it's not hard to strike up a conversation in the break room or between tasks. There is a designated space for each department and the workspaces are very organized and safe to work in. For my internship, scheduling has been very flexible and shifts can be adjusted as needed from week to week. As a bonus, it is only 5 minutes away from the UCF main campus, which is great for UCF student commute.

What I wish was different

Advice

Apply for something that is not your main interest. Design engineering interests me the most and I was hoping to work with the engineering and science teams here, but instead, I was accepted for the manufacturing side, and I love what I do! I've discovered a new interest in manufacturing processes and efficiency through this internship which is something I didn't realize I was interested in.

ISRU Research Engineer

What I liked

I have enjoyed my time so far at Exolith Lab because of the work environment and research opportunities they have. My co-workers and higher-ups are super understanding and encouraging. My research focus here is also very intriguing and challenging (in a fun way). Without Exolith Lab, I would not have been able to get my first internship at NASA Ames Research Center.

What I liked

Exolith is a great place to be! If you want to work with really cool stuff and be around great people, this is the place for you. Lots of cool space related operations. I love the passion everyone has for what they are doing, and the teamwork between different departments to reach a shared goal/mission. Truly a great place to grow and take your knowledge to the next step!
