What I liked

It was awesome to actually work on projects, go through site visits, and network.

What I wish was different

Honestly, the only downside was my lack of skill. L

Advice

Be ready to learn and learn quickly! I had a base knowledge for most of the work, but tuning to specifics and application was a pleasant struggle.

Electrical Design Engineer

May 2018 - September 2019 • Milwaukee, WI

What I liked

My two favorite parts about this branch of exp is the convenience of living, working, and studying in Milwaukee, and the type of projects they work on. Working during the school year is encouraged as well which is great!

What I wish was different

I wish there was more feedback through the internship. There were times where I wasn’t sure if I had done something 100% correct, but I’d be told it was fine.

Advice

If you’re thinking about working at this branch, just ask for an interview. After the interview, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to tour the office and see what they have to offer as far as quality of life! Also make sure you meet Jeff R. He’s great!

Mechanical Intern

July - September 2018 • Glendale, CA

What I liked

I was able to learn about the HVAC-R industry and apply my skills from school to the workplace. I was able to design with professional engineers and learn how to use design tools.

What I wish was different

I wish I had taken more advantage of the learning opportunities at work and had the concentration classes that would have helped me understand the industry.

Advice

It was a great experience and I definitely believe that if you choose to work with EXP, keep an open mind, be ready to communicate, and learn from them.
