What I liked

The independence and small group dynamics is nice, along with the trust. There is little-none Management oversight, and it is taken as a given that you will get the work done. Benefits are amazing and cheap!

What I wish was different

Lack of management oversight meant lack of recognition. Quality Assurance is a very difficult job to be promoted out of, because no one will know who you are. Also, the pay raises are crippling. At best, expect $.30-$.75/hour increase a year, with a starting base salary of $12-$15/hour.

Advice

Do it for a year, then find something else. It's a great spring board into quality, but doesn't train people on actual SQL and ISO quality standards--things the industry looks for on an application/resume. You will have to seek outside certification if you want that.
