Flagler College

News and Information/Digital Services Intern

May 2019 • St. Augustine, FL

What I liked

I enjoyed learning new skills and working with such a supportive team.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was great!

Advice

I would recommend showing up with a positive attitude each day and connecting with the other members of your team to get the most out of your experience.

Video Equipment Rentals

September - December 2019 • St. Augustine, FL

What I liked

Usually a lot of down time to study the equipment or work on papers for classes. Flexible with your schedule.

What I wish was different

Nothing really. It’s a great responsibility.

Advice

Make sure you keep track of SD cards. People like to take them out of the camera off-load them and forget to bring them back- then you have to chase them down.

Summer camps and Conference

May - August 2019 • St. Augustine, FL

What I liked

I really liked learning the background of what goes on in the summer here at Flagler College. As well as meeting the people that help Flagler College run outside of the professors, something I would not have learned without the internship.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been more prepared and ready for the different type of jobs I would be working in. Being prepared for something to go wrong even if something seems perfect it may not be as perfect.

Advice

Be ready to learn many different hats, and also be prepared to use them at any point. One day you could be working on a project or preparing for a camp, the next day you could be assisting a coworker on the other side of campus and be away from your desk for the day.
