Flagstar Bank

Application Developer Intern

What I liked

Great, mature environment. Great team willing to help and they got interns involved. Flexibility in hours and telecommuting.

What I wish was different

There is a TON of meetings. Out of their control but I just wished my commute was shorter. Also old tech stack.

Advice

Getting real world experience is far greater than anything involved in school/school projects.

Post closing receiving intern

May - August 2018 • Troy, MI

What I liked

we got to learn about different branches of the bank from coffee talks that we had each week. Each week a different branch would do a presentation about their job and the requirements it takes to do that job. They did volunteer work, and the internship program at Flagstar Bank was amazing.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship could have been longer.

Advice

Learn as much as you can, every bit of what you learn is valuable in some way.

Financial planning and analysis intern

May 2018 • Troy, MI

What I liked

The people, the work, learning how a bank works. Flexibility of my schedule was key as I was taking classes the same time as my internship. Up to 37.5 hours a week.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to been given more responsibility. I was given some projects that were meaningful but I would have liked to be more apart of the bank.

Advice

Enjoy it while it lasts. Make the best of it learn as much as you can and make the best impression.
