I loved the location and the culture within the office. The benefits were also very generous.
What I wish was different
I wish that my feedback had been a little more in-depth as I would have liked more constructive criticism.
Advice
Come prepared to learn. Keep a notebook on you at all times in order to keep notes. The repetitive nature of tasks will make these notes very useful.

What I liked
I had an amazing team to work with who really encouraged learning and growth. I was constantly given new projects that got me out of my comfort zone.
What I wish was different
I had to be remote due to the pandemic and I missed seeing everyone in person.
Advice
Be ready to learn and take lots of notes! They will be your best friend when you have to come back to something you haven't done in a few days.

Tax Intern

What I liked
Overall, I had a great experience at Stone Pine. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the firm was very supportive of new hires with extensive and well-coordinated training sessions. I was fortunate enough to try out both fund administration and the tax departments, and gained valuable experience from both. Interns also took part in regular events, like Rockies games, Top Golf, and go-kart racing.
What I wish was different
While the work I was assigned was always substantive, engaging, and relevant, sometimes there wasn't enough of it to keep me occupied. I wish that the actual work assignments and responsibilities could have been more thoroughly planned out in advance to maintain a constant and steady pace.
Advice
If possible, I would advise any potential intern to try their hands in both the GAAP and tax teams to gain a fuller understanding of the firm's activities and experience the full spectrum of accounting work.

What I liked
I liked learning about private equity funds, both foreign and domestic
What I wish was different
I wish the firm had even a little larger and that it wasn't so niche. They only had private equity funds.
Advice
I would say be outgoing. Be willing to say yes, take on new tasks, and ask lots of questions
