GIGI'S PLAYHOUSE MILWAUKEE

About GIGI'S PLAYHOUSE MILWAUKEE

GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee opened on World Down Syndrome Day in 2015 following a grassroots fundraising campaign led by interested local parents and community members. Our Playhouse is an inspirational and dedicated place for families to celebrate Down syndrome. As one of 55+ brick and mortar locations across the United States and Mexico, we are working to change the way the world views Down syndrome and spread a global message of acceptance for all.

We are making this vision a reality by offering FREE educational, therapeutic and social programming to help our participants from pre-natal diagnosis through adulthood. Our inclusive and lifelong approach supports families of individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities develop, learn and grow helping them achieve their Best of All! Check out our programming calendar here.

Our Playhouse is led by a small staff and a dedicated team of volunteers making us 99% volunteer run. We are proud to be 100% funded by our Milwaukee community and appreciate the partnerships of our local businesses, organizations and individuals who inspire us to further our mission.

Programs Intern

“I loved getting to interact with the adults and children that I worked with. This internship really pushed me out of my comfort zone, as I was suddenly designing and teaching classes/programs. I love that I made lifelong friendships and connections out of this internship, and many special memories. ”
