I enjoyed the having one on one support from my mentor, and direct experience with data analysis and presentation of results. We met in our small intern group to have weekly journal clubs explore our interests and learn more about other departments at Gillette.
What I wish was different
The projects I was on did not have much data collection and meeting with participants involved, which I would have appreciated and enjoyed.
Advice
Research can be tedious and some tasks may feel mundane at times, so it is important to keep the big picture in mind and realize the value in the work!

Nursing Intern
June - August 2018 • Saint Paul, MN
What I liked
I loved the opportunity to work with a healthcare team for an extended period of time and have so many coworkers eager to help me learn about what they do, how I can help, and what it means to be an employee at GCSH.
What I wish was different
Without the hospital having an affiliation with St. Olaf, I was limited in my capacity as a nursing intern. I was not able to pass medications or do many other tasks that nursing students can do during clinicals and nursing interns through St. Olaf affiliated internship programs (e.g. Allina and Fairview).
