Established in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1921, Shakespeare Products Division built a reputation as the leader in flexible controls, first for the automotive industry, then gradually expanding into all types of controls for land, sea & air. The key to this facility is the flexibility offered to customers to manufacture products that meet their needs.
Evolving into Glassmaster Controls in 1989, we have continued this reputation by further expanding our product capabilities for an even wider range of industries.
At Glassmaster Controls, we manufacture mechanical push pull cables and provide circuit board assembly services for our customer’s specific applications. Our 110,000 square foot, climate-controlled facility is strategically located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, halfway between Detroit and Chicago and within the automotive manufacturing supply base of the world.
Glassmaster Controls products are used across a wide range of industries and our direct OEM customers include heavy truck, marine, agriculture, defense, office furniture, and consumer products industries. Our diverse offering of product applications includes:
Pull-only cables, including vehicle hood or trunk release.
Push-pull cables, including marine valve cables and vehicle temperature control.
Wire rope assemblies, including restraint cable and lanyards.
Latching systems, including Cable Latch products which actuate spring loaded pins.
Molded assemblies, including electrical connector, caps, HVAC actuators, knobs.
Circuit board assemblies, including vehicle LED lighting, sensors industrial controls.
Utilizing our vertically integrated manufacturing, we are able to produce our own component and assemble mechanical and electronic control systems in-house, resulting in maximum control of quality, cost and delivery which directly benefits our customers and is reflected in our Mission Statement. Examples of our in-house manufacturing capabilities include: screw-machine metal forming, plastic injection molding, plastic extrusion, insert zinc-diecast molding, and automated assembly/soldering of electronic components to printed circuit boards.
