Global Zero

Policy team

June - July 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

I liked the work and the people at Global Zero. I got a better understanding how a NGO works with policy, and how important the work is. I also got a better idea of what I want to do in the future as I worked with multiple teams such as field and media as well.

What I wish was different

I can't think of anything, that I wished would have been different.

Advice

Always ask questions if you don't know somthing.

Digital and Marketing Intern

June - August 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

I loved getting hands on experience in an important field. I wasn't given a typical intern workload, it was content that I was driving. I had one main focus everyday and then given other tasks throughout the internship which kept it different and exciting. It was a smaller organization which meant I was seen as a contributor and was able to make an impact.

Advice

Almost every experience can be tied into what you're interested in. Don't give up an opportunity because it's not directly in your field because you never know what that experience can lead to. Going into different fields can give you perspective you may never have gotten otherwise - I found connections between nuclear weapons and developing countries.
