Business Analyst Intern

May - August 2017 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Great entrepreneurial and self-driven environment with a good focused strategy towards innovation and continuous improvement. A culture of independent work but at the same time collaboration is very important to make everything work.

What I wish was different

Since it's a very independent culture, instructions or guidance were sometimes vague and uncertain. Some of the HR procedures were not communicated well. The mix of interns was disappointing, many didn't seem to care for the company which made genuine collaboration difficult.

Advice

Expect to be challenged from day one. Be ready to ask a lot of questions, never assume anything, they love when you ask meaningful questions and they look for employees that are proactive and are eager to grow within the company and do their job as interns well, but who also are considering their future within the company seriously. Curiosity and smart contributions are highly regarded. The more confident and respectful you show yourself, the more they will treat you as more than a college intern.
