Groundwork Somerville engages in environmental justice work, especially focused on youth empowerment, health equity, and environmental sustainability through community collaboration. We have a special focus on urban farming, and engaging youth in food justice issues. Our mission is to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment through the development of community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses and organizations to promote environmental, economic and social well-being.
