Retouching Intern

What I liked

This position was remote, but despite being removed from a physical office space, I really appreciated the way the team at GTB (and the studio Makerhouse which I was directly interning with via GTB) handled communication and incorporating me into projects. The team environment and overall encouragement to learn and speak with colleagues, spend time on developing new skills and getting the chance to shadow professionals at work on client projects was a huge plus. Very grateful for the opportunity!

What I wish was different

There were learning curves and obstacles to be overcome as I would expect with any internship position, so I'm not sure if I have any specific complaints. Perhaps the intern project was a little rocky on how it was developed and presenting over zoom was a little tight, but again I think I learned from that as well.

Advice

If applying for a remote position, I would recommend having a designated work area separate from your restful living space, and to be open to asking questions and taking offers to set up meetings to get to know the people you are interning with.
