You’ll never find another place like Hardin-Simmons University. We are a Baptist university in Abilene, Texas with 128 years of history and traditions that aren’t matched at any other school, and that gives HSU a personality as big as the West Texas horizon.
The mission of Hardin-Simmons University is to be a community dedicated to providing excellence in education enlightened by Christian faith and values. Through its seven academic divisions, HSU offers more than 75 majors, minors and concentrations, and 20 graduate degrees, from business to theology. We’re proud of our intimate class sizes. Our 12:1 student-faculty ratio allows for personal attention from professors. More than 90 percent of our faculty members hold the highest degrees in their fields of study.
HSU welcomes students of all faiths and beliefs to attend our institution. In the 2018-2019 academic year, HSU is home to 2,344 students, including 1,761 undergraduate and 583 graduate and doctoral students.
Our 200-acre home is comprises 33 major buildings, including classrooms, residence halls, and apartments, as well as athletic fields and lots of wide-open green space.
