Hasbro

Brand Marketing Intern

May - August 2021 • Pawtucket, RI

What I liked

I liked the people I worked with and the impact I was able to have as an intern.

What I wish was different

I wish it was in-person

Advice

Work at a place where you enjoy the work you do with the people you work with. Even if the field itself isn't something you might have thought about before, a firm's culture can change a lot about your perspective on certain jobs.

What I liked

Great company environment, fun projects, and fantastic work-life balance. Good learning experience and you feel like your work makes a difference in the community.

What I wish was different

COVID unfortunately forced a WFH transition, causing a disconnect between your work and that of your coworkers.

Advice

Ask questions and get involved in the smaller activities that happen around the office.

Global Brand Marketing Intern

June - July 2018 • Pawtucket, RI

What I liked

I loved the company's culture. It is an environment that you enjoy to be at. Friendly people willing to help at any time.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have stayed a little bit longer in order to finish the way I wanted all of my assigned projects.

Advice

I got this internship even though I was not looking for one; and I am glad I got to do it because I learned a lot, grew in a personal and professional way, and built a lot of relationships. So my advise to all the students, is to go and get your foot on the door because you never know when it might be a good opportunity.

Creative Social Media Intern

June - August 2018 • Pawtucket, RI

What I liked

The company culture at Hasbro was one of my favorite things this summer. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, and I never felt discouraged from reaching out to other departments and learn more. Hasbro has played such a huge role in so many childhoods, including my own, so it was great having the opportunity to create content for top brands like Transformers, My Little Pony, Play-Doh and more.

Product Design Co-op

September 2016 - April 2017 • Pawtucket, RI

What I liked

The work was phenomenal, I was on the MARVEL team under Hasbro therefore I was working with Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow etc. It was a very fast paced environment which left for very little down time which I personally enjoyed. My bosses were very supportive and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Everyone that worked at Hasbro seemed to be one big family which was a nice change of pace as well, you could talk to anyone from any team and they would be just as likely to help you. Now the work was extremely fun for me since I am a child at heart, I got to relive playing with and creating action figures, vehicles, and role play props. Everyday I went into work with a smile on my face.....I think that sums up my experience pretty well.

What I wish was different

HR sorta sucked since they had me move up to Rhode Island in less than a week after accepting the offer, they also forgot to send me the housing info, so my living situation wasn't ideal for the entire time I was there.

Advice

I would say hard work pays off, my bosses love to see progress with my skills. When I left compared to when I started I was a completely different level and they liked how hard I worked to get there. Also at hasbro the only program the designers use is Photoshop. I was a huge learning curve and I wish I had known how to work the program better than when I arrived.
