Animal Husbandry Intern

What I liked

I liked learning about how to take care of all of the different animals. There was always something new to learn and it was never boring. It was also interesting to see all that goes into a nonprofit wildlife center.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a chance to learn different jobs and how to take care of all of the animals. We were assigned animals to take care of and stuck with that group throughout the whole internship.

Advice

Make sure to go in ready to do a lot of physical work outside. It can be a strenuous job at times but it is very rewarding. Also, make sure to have an open mind because you might think you know stuff about certain animal care, but there is always more to learn.
