Health Finance Institute

About Health Finance Institute

HFI’s vision is simple: to implement robust, evidence-based innovative funding mechanisms to broker partnerships across public and private sectors and leverage unique expertise across health and finance to close the current gap in funding for NCDs. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death and disability, globally. Yet, there continues to be an underinvestment in action and health financing by the global community.

We are a young global health finance startup based out of Washington, DC. Our organization aims to disrupt 'business as usual' practices in global health by translating economic evidence into actionable, high-impact investment opportunities to close the global chronic disease investment gap. Individuals that join our team could potentially be part of global health's 'next big thing' and will be part of a strong, collaborative, and dynamic team that aims to re-invent how global health works. We offer an opportunity to work on diverse projects and have diverse responsibilities and engage with leading global health experts across multiple sectors.

HR and Operations Intern

June 2021 - August 2021 Washington, DC
“This was an incredibly rewarding and dynamic internship. The staff at HFI really listen and care about each one of us, and the flexibility of the position allowed me to pivot to different areas at the company beyond the scope of my internship. For example, I assisted the marketing and communications side with photography and event logistics, and I contributed to the company audit and administrative processes. My peers and coworkers were incredibly talented and passionate individuals who I looked up to and learned from immensely throughout my internship.”
