We are building a center for excellence with an emphasis on Trauma-Informed Counseling. a successful and experienced private practice counseling team working at a highly respected and successful clinic in Grand Rapids that is focused on Trauma-Informed Therapies and Trauma-Specific Interventions (e.g. EMDR, Brainspotting, TF-CBT, ACT etc.)

Our counselors have advanced training on how the brain and body respond to and hold onto the effects of trauma. Our team understands how trauma can have a lasting impact on people’s perspective, relationships, life story, daily functioning and how its effects can lead to feelings of extreme depression and anxiety as well as being misunderstood by people in your life, misdiagnosed by professionals, or even medically mismanaged.

The Trauma-Informed Counseling Center of Grand Rapids is proud to be a wing of Health for Life Grand Rapids. The Trauma-Informed Counseling Center of Grand Rapids houses multiple counselors and therapists who specialize in the latest empirically-proven clinical therapies to help treat trauma and PTSD, as well as trauma-induced depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. We utilize scientifically validated techniques such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, the Neurosequential Model and more. All of our counselors have advanced training and education in the latest counseling interventions to help people who are suffering from trauma and trauma-related symptoms.
