What I liked
I liked how much experience I gained from working at a smaller engineering firm. I got to do a lot of different tasks, and my work was helpful to my coworkers. It was a lot more technical than just "intern" work.
What I wish was different
Not much - it was a great experience!
Advice
My advice (as an engineer) is to intern at smaller companies while you are still in school. Working at a smaller companies is beneficial in the learning process, and allows for you to do the most possible at your job.
