What I liked

The people at the company are the highlight: people were extremely friendly and made me feel at home. I also liked how they treated interns as employees with real work that will help the company.

What I wish was different

I wish that the training they gave in the first two weeks of the internship would have been different, because I did not learn anything in the training that helped me in my job after training, which was very upsetting to me.

Advice

I hope that HomeAway changes the training program to make it more applicable to the interns.

Product Management Intern

What I liked

I really liked the responsibility that was given to me as an intern. The ability to own a part of a product cycle and work on cutting edge tech was a really valuable experience.

What I wish was different

I would have appreciated a little bit more structure to the internship. Often times, it felt that I was defining my own expectations.

Advice

It is important that you go in with an open mind and are willing to work on a variety of different products that are at different points in the product cycle.
