In 1955 Ed Howard purchased his father-in-laws' gas station and grocery store on the corner of what is now Buford Highway and Pleasantdale Road in Doraville Georgia. Even then, it was personal service that he thought to be one of the most important qualities in small business. In 1972, Howard's joined one of the nations largest hardware chains True Value, and quickly became known as THE place to go for hard-to-find hardware items.
More than a half a century later, The business that he started has grown from one location to five locations. We have grown from 1 employee to 100. In addition to the True Value hardware stores, Howard Brothers has become one of the most respected outdoor power equipment dealers in the nation. Ed's sons, John and Doug Howard now own and operate the business and even though we've grown, we keep the same high level of customer service at each location. Our stores in Alpharetta, Athens, Doraville, Duluth and Oakwood Georgia are able to serve metro Atlanta and north GA
