The development department staff are incredibly kind and passionate about the work they do. You also have a lot of flexibility in terms of the work you do and the projects you take on. (For example, I expressed interest in event planning and was invited to planning meetings for the Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast.)
What I wish was different
Summer is a bit of a slower time for media, but there is still plenty of meaningful, challenging work to do.
Advice
Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and your interests! If you want to learn how to do something, chances are the staff are more than willing to teach you.

What I liked
Everyone at Hubbard House was so wonderful and resourceful. I was able to take the lead on what I wanted to learn.
What I wish was different
Summer is a slower time for work so I would consider a spring or fall internship here since there are big events happening.
