I enjoyed applying my engineering knowledge from the class to real life problems. I also liked working side by side with real engineers and observing how they approach problems as oppose to how I would in the classroom setting. I was able to go on site during a few projects which made me expand my thinking on certain problems, it forced me to think outside the box and use logic rather than running to code books.
What I wish was different
I don’t think I would change anything from my experience. I was fortunate enough to work with the company throughout the 9 months that I did.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share to others would NOT to be afraid of making mistakes. You are an intern/Co-op so the employer understands you are not a master of your field. That doesn’t mean you can continuously make simple errors, but learn from those mistake and improve.
