I felt very involved in the finance department's everyday tasks and was entrusted with meaningful and important jobs around the office. Everyone was very kind and helpful in teaching me the ropes in the Accounts Payable division. They were extremely generous with their time to answer my questions and share their knowledge.
What I wish was different
It was an extremely valuable experience, but I wish that I had been paid because the work was tiring and required a lot of focus and attention to detail. It was also not ideal to spend my summer unpaid since I'm a student and need the money.
Advice
Be smart with choosing an internship and evaluate your priorities when offered an unpaid opportunity.
