Respite provider

What I liked
I enjoyed the hand one experience I received being a respite provider. I was in close contact with my person and spent every day with her for a month, and learned a lot about caring for others.
What I wish was different
I wish nothing was different! Being a respite provider is an experience that opens your eyes to other people's daily lives, and changes you for the better when it comes to understanding.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share about this experience is to stay calm, cool, and collected, and prepare ahead of time for the schedule you will be on.

What I liked
It was a fun, interactive job where I got to meet many children in the Boulder metro area. I was also able to apply what I have learned throughout my education at CU (Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences) to the job.

I can pick up as many shifts as I want and I can work overtime. My residents always put a smile on my face too!

The pay, mostly because it is a caregiving position and it can take a toll on you mentally and physically
