OUR VISION
Imerman Angels envisions a world where cancer is not a solitary experience.
OUR MISSION
Imerman Angels’ mission is to provide comfort and understanding for all cancer fighters, survivors, previvors and caregivers through a personalized, one-on-one connection with someone who has been there.
OVERVIEW & HISTORY
Our organization was created with the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone. At age 26 , Jonny Imerman was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and though he had the loving support of his family and friends, he never felt more alone. He envisioned the benefits of talking to someone just like him; someone intimately familiar with his experience who had already faced the same type of cancer.
Jonny’s vision became a reality when Imerman Angels became a 501(c)(3) organization in 2006. Through our unique matching process, Imerman Angels partners anyone seeking cancer support with a “Mentor Angel”. A Mentor Angel is a cancer survivor, previvor or caregiver who is the same age, same gender, and most importantly, who has faced the same type of cancer. Imerman Angels’ free service fills the “understanding gap” in comprehensive cancer care and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
