Absolutely loved the family and location. Their church surrounded and included me, and asked me to come back whenever I could!
What I wish was different
I wish I spoke German.
Advice
Make sure you get to know the family beforehand. If you do not get along, au pairing could be a terrible experience. But if you do like each other, you've suddenly got international lifelong friends!

I most enjoyed the ability to work with my hands while learning throughout the summer.

I wish that the pay had been marginally better, and that I had more prior experience.
Advice
The ability to work and learn gives much fulfillment throughout your work experience, and will ultimately lead to a more meaningful work experience.

I had a schedule with the kids so that they had structure over the summer

I wish that I was paid back for the gas I used to bring the kids to their sporting events
Advice
It was a great experience. I learned new ways to solve situations and temper tantrums while also finding fun activities for any weather.
