What I wish was different
I wish the management was better, with more support and training for staff. It was also advertised as an internship where I would learn about social work/case working, but that did not happen at all.
Advice
It is intense doing direct care giving, so be ready. It’s worth it though, at least for a while. Be ready to advocate for yourself and your clients way out of your comfort zone.
