The work here feels very important and my coworkers have been incredible at teaching me the ropes. My job is to help with data collection and entry, but really feels like I get to do so much more for the community than that.
What I wish was different
There a some very slow periods between data collection that leave me idle and wanting more, but overall very happy with the experience so far.
Advice
Cultural competency cannot be taken for granted. Everyone should go into new positions ready to learn and ready to ask questions rather than assume anything. Especially here at an Indian health center, one should be totally humble, kind and understanding in everything you do.
