I liked working with kids and learning from the Kindergarten teacher at the school where I was placed. Additionally, I was able to foster a relationship with the teacher and she trusted me with a lot which gave me space to grow and take initiative instead of waiting for instructions.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had learned more skills about restorative justice and how to problem-solve a little more with students.
Advice
Working with kids and being in a role of authority can seem intimidating, but as long as you own-it they will follow by example.
