What I liked

I liked the team I worked with a lot. My manager and my mentor were very considerate of me not having much prior work experience and gave me enough time to settle down and learn about everything I was supposed to be working with, before I started on my project. I was given a project, catered to my skills and capabilities, and I learnt so much from my work experience.

What I wish was different

I wish there would've been more people in the office, as most people in my team worked remote or came to the office 2-3 days a week.

Advice

It's pretty generic, but I would advise to meet as many people as possible, even if they have nothing to do with your project or department. Ask people what they do and make those connections.

What I liked

Since I have been working at a smaller firm I have been able to work hand in hand with many members of the Finance Department at Instinet. I have been able to work directly on monthly projects that the company and the CFO use in presentations and making decisions, which is more hands on then if I were in a bigger program.

What I wish was different

Since it was a smaller company I did not have any Interns in my specific group besides myself but I got to meet people my age in different departments.
