I really liked the atmosphere with IOKDS. There was so much love that was spread around and, despite having high expectations for our products, there was always time to check-in and chat on a personal level.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more diversity in the physical location of the internship. There were a lot of rich, old, white, Christian men and women.
Advice
I would highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. It was an amazing experience and a perfect transition from casual college experience to the professional realm.

What I liked
I loved the people that I was working with both fellow interns and supervisors.
What I wish was different
I wished that we could have been on the grounds of the Chautauqua institute as originally planned it looked beautiful and was one of the top things I was excited for.
Advice
Come ready to think and be creative this will stretch you to be more than just an intern pushing paper this is a real-world experience.

What I liked
I loved being able to meet so many new people and build relationships with people from not only around the country, but around the world. I was able to discern what career path I want to take and the direction I want my life to take.
What I wish was different
Our housing didn't have air conditioning while I was in the Learn and Discern program, BUT they got approved to put AC in for the next summer!
Advice
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there! Almost everyone wants to hear from you and wants to know what your experience is. They are excited about the future for young people and want to help us grow, both in our careers and as people who are part of society.
