I enjoyed my time working with the members of my research team, my mentor PhD student, my graduate professor who led the research, and the nanotechnology REU program leaders.
What I wish was different
I wish I had already taken physical chemistry as well as some sort of chemical engineering course before attending the REU program. It would have made me more knowledgeable on the research I was conducting and I feel I would have gotten even more out of the opportunity.
Advice
I would recommend the Nano @UI program to anyone looking for a serious idea of what graduate school is like at a larger University. Everyone I worked with and spoke to was genuine and wanted to see growth in the REU members.
