What I liked

As an intern, I had the opportunity to communicate with potential volunteers through weekly phone bank calls and door to door canvassing. Furthermore, I got to assist grassroots political leaders and campaign staff by administering organized events to build a network of volunteers and supporters. Lastly, I focused on digital recruitment strategy by celebrating volunteer activism on social media and analyzing the results of these outreach efforts.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was more structure on a day to day basis.

Advice

While doing this internship, I realized that I did not really want to go the politics route. However, I learned so much throughout the experience. My one piece of advice is to treat every opportunity seriously and give it your all no matter what because through the experience you will learn what things you like, don't like, and have a better understanding of what you want to pursue in the future.
