What I liked

The team was so helpful accommodating and really included me in as much as they could!

What I wish was different

Unfortunately I was working remote due to COVID and I would have loved to be in-office and able to walk properties with my team. This was completely out of their control, which I understand, ubt it would have made my internship that much better!

This company really takes care of their people, including interns. If you like a teamwork environment, this is one of the best companies to intern at.

Marketing Intern

June - August 2019 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

My team and mentor were amazing -- I learned so much from a very hands-on digital marketing internship.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had the opportunity to do more with some of the projects I was a part of, simply because I was an intern I didn't have access to all the information required to be quite as involved as a full time employee.

Advice

The commercial real estate industry is a very fast-paced and exciting one to get involved in. Networking with people both in your position and in the industry is very important.

Project Management Intern

June - August 2019 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

The people were awesome! Everyone was super helpful and always willing to answer questions or network. I appreciated receiving advice for my future and how to reach my career goals. JLL has a wide, global reach so the projects are impactful and relevant.

What I wish was different

I wish I sometimes had more work during the day. I thought of other ideas to be helpful later in my internship, but ran out of time to complete some projects. Due to the nature of the work and confidentiality, it sometimes took a long time to receive clearance or access to sites and resources.

Advice

Start early and continue learning about the company. This allows you to field questions as well as people you look up to. Networking provides helpful advice for meeting people and creating new goals.

Real Estate Brokerage Intern

June 2019 • Miami, FL

What I liked

JLL is the leading commercial real estate company in South Florida. I like that I was able to learn about all business lines in the rotational program. All the brokers went the extra mile to make sure I was getting the proper exposure that I needed to succeed in the industry and get a return offer.

What I wish was different

I wish there would have been a week one crash course on how brokers work and the entire timeline of the deal process.

Advice

I would encourage anyone to always be proactive in your internships. Show the full time employees your awareness of the work that is done at the company and do things without having to be asked.

What I liked

The Real estate industry is something that I am very passionate. I always felt like I was transported somewhere else when I was researching or valuing a property. This is certainly something that I want to do.

What I wish was different

Although senior management was fantastic, my immediate boss announced he was leaving on the first day and my new boss did not seem to have much interest in guiding and mentoring me.

Advice
