JoCo

Business Intern

July 2023 • Tulsa, OK

What I liked

I've spent nearly two months in this intern role here at JoCo, and the experience has impressed me from the start. The staff here at JoCo is not only friendly in a professional aspect, but the way they treat their employees and clients roots from a genuine place of care. They strive to help and serve the people they encounter to the best of their ability. So far in my role here at JoCo, I have been exposed to different recruiting techniques and strategies, been a part of marketing projects for clients, had the opportunity to perform research on what the Gen Z population is looking for in their career search, had the freedom to write articles for the companies website, and gotten to learn about the many moving parts and roles that make their recruiting team so wonderful. I look forward to learning and experiencing so much more as I continue in this role. I love that I am playing a part in helping connect others in the business world, and I am confident I am working behind a team that is always striving to make a positive impact. Overall, this internship will always be active, and you will be given the platform to excel and grow along with the support you need to do so!

Business Internship

May - July 2023 • Tulsa, OK

What I liked

Something I appreciated about the JoCo business internship was the way it focused on multiple aspects of business. Throughout the internship, I was entrusted with diverse responsibilities and projects, which ranged from using JoCo’s applicant tracking system, to sourcing candidates for jobs, to creating major marketing changes, which allowed for opportunities to grow and learn. The projects allowed me to practice practical skills I will need to use in the business world. Currently, I am working on a project where I was the one to create the project plan, as it relates to what I want to study in graduate school. Therefore, JoCo emphasizes independence and proactiveness along with collaboration.

What I liked

I recently had the opportunity to work as a Business Intern at JoCo, and it was a valuable learning experience! The team was welcoming from the moment I arrived, and they provided a great balance of professional and relational interactions. Through the JoCo internship, I was able to take concepts learned in university courses (such as marketing, HR, management, and other subjects) and apply them to a real business setting. This internship allowed me to ask questions and learn from those more experienced in the industry, while allowing me to take initiative and creative freedom on independent projects. While there were a few responsibilities that were consistent from day to day, I was also able to work on a range of projects, some of which I initiated. Overall, I ended the experience feeling better equipped for the business field.
