This was a rare opportunity to do research that has a direct and obvious effect on the people of huntingdon county. I enjoyed Knowing that the data I was collecting was actually important to the local community. I also enjoyed how student-led the research was. This project really tested and improved our team's ability to do effective field research.
What I wish was different
I wish we had more time and a bigger team to actually accomplish all of the goals set at the beginning of the summer.
Advice
Be prepared to hike rough terrain frequently. Tuck your pants into your socks to avoid getting bitten by a tick. Wearing bug spray could impact the results of the study.
