What I liked

I liked that I was integrated into the team and have had a diverse experience. I have been able to do testing, design parts, learn new CAD skills, learn about manufacturing processes and the ins and outs of the design process. It has been an enjoyable and a great representation of working in industry.

What I wish was different

Better wages.

Jump right in. Ask questions if you have them. Enjoy the work being done and see the progress.

What I liked

I like the great atmosphere and the friendly people who work here! Great place to work. I have had the opportunity to work various aspects of the job and get an accurate experience as to what working as a mechanical engineer is like.

What I wish was different

Nothing so far. My experience has been wonderful.

Advice

I am a person that likes to feel competent and have a good understanding of what is going on. Going into a professional work space with seasoned professionals was like learning to swim by jumping in head first. I would say that asking questions when you do not understand something is important. Couple that with finding information on the internet to increase understanding.

Manufacturing Software Engineer

What I liked

The culture of a smaller company. In my department, there is just one other programmer who is my boss and between the two of us, we manage all of the software for our manufacturing plant. This allowed me to get a lot of hands on experience and learn much needed skills quickly.

What I wish was different

I have had a great experience at Juniper Systems and happy the way it turned out.

Advice

I got this job because I gave Juniper Systems a resume that I had as a homework assignment. I didn't intend to get this job but I'm so glad it turned out that way. I would say it never hurts to put your information out there so you can have as many opportunities as possible.
