I loved the fact that I had real life, hands-on experience. I shadowed reporters, talked different department heads, produced parts of the newscasts, edited video and was in charge of social media.
What I wish was different
I wish I had taken advantage of all the opportunities given to me by the station
Advice
Talk to a former news intern or the HR rep at the place to fully understand what you're getting yourself into. This industry is not for a lot of people and I saw a few interns struggle with the experience. I did too, but I absolutely love this industry so it was worth it and necessary.
